Drafter of the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act passed by the Illinois General Assembly and signed by then Governor James R. Thompson, which became law on October 1, 1977. (Handled appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court in Kujawinski v. Kujawinski, 71 Ill.2d 563, 376 N.E.2d 1382, 17 Ill.Dec. 801 (Ill. 1978) in which the constitutionality of the key provisions of the Act was adjudicated.)

Appointed by West Publishing Company to be the co-author with Albert E. Jenner, Jr., of the Historical and Practice Notes to the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act and to the Husband and Wife Act in the Smith-Hurd Illinois Annotated Statutes, 1980 to 1988. These Historical and Practice Notes have been relied upon and cited by Illinois courts of review hundreds of times in construing that law.
